Q How long will it take for my website to be designed?
A The timeline of a website design project is often dictated by the client. If you have a deadline in mind we will do our best to meet your needs. The most common delay in the creation and completion of a new website is waiting for content (text/images) to be sent to us by the client. Most websites we design take somewhere between 4 to 6 weeks from start to launch. However, depending on the complexity of your website needs, this timeline can vary in either direction. Once we've scoped out your website needs, we will always give you an estimated timeline.
Q Will we need to have a meeting in connection with the website design?
A We usually like to meet with our clients in order to create a personal connection and get a better understanding of their website likes and dislikes. This can be accomplished via email or telephone conversations, but nothing beats a face to face meeting. These "web design meetings" usually take about an hour and entail scoping out the project - determining the website needs and requirements - along with fleshing out your aesthetic preferences. Not everyone likes the same style of web design and we like to cater our website designs to your desires - no templates here! We'll give you our professional design advice, but ultimately the final website product will be your "face" on the web and we want you to be proud of it.
Q After my website is launched, will you help me maintain it?
A Absolutely! We fully support any website we design and are always available should you encounter any problems or require any enhancements. We have designed our own content management system, Bossanova, which allows you to update your web site without requiring any programming or HTML knowledge. However, we also provide free tech support if you ever have a question or run into a problem. We also offer web site maintenance should you ever need additional web programming done to enhance the fuctionality of your website.
Q In what format should I supply words and photographs for my new website?
A It is helpful to us if you are able to provide text and photographs in electronic form - for example, the files output by a digital camera (.jpg, .gif, .png) and the words/content in MS Word or similar format. If this is not possible, we can help get your information ready for use on the website.
Q Will my website design be "Search Engine" friendly?
A All our websites are created with search engines in mind and the website design is compliant with search engine guidelines. We'll assist in determining the best website domain name for search engine optimization, as well as those keywords that should be used liberally within the content of your new website to increase your Google ranking.
Q How do I update my website?
A Bosssanova is Hang-Wire’s proprietary website content management system. It is the brain behind your website’s pretty face. Unlike many other systems that make your web design fit prearranged technical specifications, Bossanova is customized and modified to work seamlessly with your web page design.
With Bossanova, you’ll be able to quickly and easily modify the content of your website; No programming or HTML knowledge required. And, while you can create as many website pages as you want, Bossanova comes with many standard web pages and special features to simplify your website management. We provide full training on the use of Bossanova at no additional cost, so you'll feel confidant using its many features.
Q Can you provide all our web design and hosting services?
A Yes - we are your one stop company to provide all your web services. No more not knowing who to call if you have problems - we can register your domain name, design your website, provide your web hosting and arrange your email accounts for you.
Q Do you use Flash animation in your website design?
A Yes we do use flash as and when required. It is important to note that there are times when Flash animations can be an asset, but we advise against creating an entire website or even entire pages of your website in Flash. Search engines are unable to read the content of Flash animations and therefore any words used will not be indexed by them. We are proponents of using Flash to give your site some eye-catching spice, not as the main ingredient.
Q Can I get e-mail with my website?
A Yes, email is included with all website design projects and you will probably want to set-up several email addresses, e.g., sale@your-domain.com, info@your-domain.com, john.smith@your-domain.com
Q Can I see how many visitors I've had to my website?
A Yes, we provide our own web tracking software which records page clicked, unique visits, and unique I.P. addresses for all web pages on your site. We also recommend and will install Google Analytics web tracking software which will tell you where your visitors are coming from and which pages they look at, which search engines are being used, which phrases are being typed into which search engines, and many more interesting web tracking facts which you should find useful for future marketing campaigns.
Q How much will my website cost?
A The cost of a website varies depending on the nature of the site and complexity. We have worked with small businesses or individuals who just need a small website with a few static page as well as larger organizations or companies who require a CMS system, e-commerce, and other custom programming. Q I already have a website and I need it updated, can you help me?
A Yes, we would be happy to look at your existing website and give you a quote for updating it. We can redesign it, retaining your company style or we can redesign to give you a completely new image. We will redesign your website to take advantage of the latest web technologies.
Q I'm trying to edit my email address, but am having difficulty. Am I doing something wrong?
A Some Firefox users have experienced problems changing an email address from a mailbox to a Forward. This is due to FireFox's autocomplete feature. You will need to clear private data in order to remove the autocomplete for the domain hang-wire.com. From FireFox's top main menu: Tools->Clear Private Data - make sure passwords is checked.
